Hey guys. I'm new. Hello. Hope you're all well. I'll introduce myself properly in a different thread as I need to ask for some knowledge from you legends! I'm Futch. You say it like "Dutch" but with an F!

I wanted to ask for some help with the DOM. I'm new to reading the DOM. I do use a DOM currently in my trading but only for getting a feel for market speed and volume, spotting exhaustion etc. I'm currently going through the training but I wanted to ask what some of the additional data is. There seems to be extra trades that I don't understand. DA7D8E2F-46FB-4478-A83D-CB7885097612_1_201_a.jpeg

So really quickly here's what I know.

1- Bid
2- Offer
3 - Snapshot so orders being taken or added

But apart from the price that is being traded right now, what are all the additional numbers in these columns? I've drawn a yellow oval around some of them.

Thanks in advance for any help offered to a DOM noob!

Thanks again

Futch

Hello Futch - I'm new here too - I've just invested in the Rolls Royce of DOM's like you, but I have worked with a Jigsaw DOM before some could be of some help whilst others may correct my advice.

So here goes - I take it that this is the NQ? From left to right here is what I can deduce...

1) The first column is your order column, so when you place an order it will show here
2) Volume profile
3) Price
4) Split/merged snapshot
4) Bid

I suppose the main answer is this...
5&6) These are your current trades at bid/offer - they show aggressive market orders hitting the bid or lifting the offer....so these columns in my opinion are extremely useful to gauge the movement/sentiment.

If you haven't seen yet - in the depth and sales settings - it has some really nice templates you can play around with in the bottom left. And if you are unsure which columns are what, you can use the radio buttons in the 'parameters' tab to add/subtract different columns.
